Join Cosmic Water Yoga and Sounds (Tara and Bill) at The Folded Leaf, as they merge two ancient traditions on the path of santoṣa or contentment – equanimity in the subtle realm and deep ease in the physical realm. A truly healing practice.


Enjoy a full immersion into embodiment with an experiential journey into somatic yoga practice.  We learn to feel and explore deeply, to differentiate the effects of intention and awareness on movement in order to sense the integration of our whole being. This helps foster the embodied awareness and personal practice that helps you to teach others.


We will integrate the wisdom of Yin yoga, Somatic movement & experiencing, contemplation & meditation yoga practices from medieval Kashmir Valley along with sound healing techniques to recreate that natural and calm state of the mind, body and spirit.


The Somatic Sound Sojourn begins with recitation of ancient mantra to prepare our mind-state.  Using contemplative visualizations, imagery, pranayama and somatic yoga movements - space and stillness are created for the deeper experience. We will then create a comfortable reclined or seated position to maintain through the rest of the practice. Then simply repose in restorative resonance to the mesmerizing, kaleidoscopic sound imagery of gongs, brass Tibetan & crystal singing bowls, tanpura, harmonium, flutes, voice, strings, bells and sundry shamanic sounds for an even deeper meditative state. Finally coming to a close with the journey back to the physical body.

New Moon Women's Circle

Join Victoria and Nina for a New Moon Women's Circle. 


All identifying women are invited to join us in sacred circle for the New Moon! As the sun and moon will both be in Scorpio, we will dive into the Scorpio archetype, harnessing this mystical energy for our New Moon Ritual. Ritual will involve a guided drumming meditation, journaling, and intention setting for the following moon cycle.


Nina will be guiding us through Candlelit Yin Yoga to complete the New Moon Ritual.


Yin yoga is a quiet, meditative practice with long, deep holding of passive poses, that allows the student to cultivate Yin qualities such as compassion, introspection, patience, sensitivity, stillness, and surrender. Yin yoga asks us to explore and expand our comfort zones, physically, mentally, and emotionally using mindful muscle relaxation, yin postures to target the connective tissue nourishing joints, ligaments, and fascia.The practice is suitable and encouraged for all levels of practitioners.(Beginner friendly)


Herbal tea will be served! Please bring a mug.

Jeannie Harrison, ERYT is the mind behind Yoga for Emotional Intelligence ( Yoga EQ ),  recovery and prevention program taught in schools, recovery centers, and companies across the nation. She is a public health consultant for the state of Ohio and the owner of the Karma Yoga Institute.

Safe Backbending Workshop

Hope you will join us for this wonderful workshop!!

 In this workshop we will discuss and practice how to safely move in and out of backbends. Which backbends are safe and which ones might not be practical for everyone. 

   Backbending seems to be the go-to photo used on Instagram of what an "advanced" practice should look like. The deeper the backbend, the more spiritual. 

   That is not true at all. In fact, having hypermobile joints can come with a ton of adverse health issues over time. 

   Working on building strength and finding length in our backbends is of the utmost importance. Then afterwards she will teach a class to integrate everything you learned during the workshop!! Hope to see you there!

Fire cider is a spicy tonic that helps support a healthy immune system and is sometimes used to prevent and treat colds. It's also claimed to improve blood circulation and digestion, amount other benefits. 

Similar tonics have been used is traditional medicine in the past. This one was developed and popularized in the late 1970s by Rosemary Gladstar, an herbalist and founder of the California School of Herbal Studies.

Join Nina a Holistic wellness enthusiast, yogi and chef for our New Moon Fire Cider workshop. In this workshop we will discuss the benefits of Fire Cider, set our intentions for our herbal tonic and you will make your own unique blend of Fire Cider under the powerful New Moon.

Everything you need to make this herbal tonic will be supplied and you will go home with your own quart of Fire Cider and other powerful knowledge on how to boost your immune system during cold and flu season.

In our world full of stress and challenges, its important that we each find time and space to relax and utilize practices to help bring our WHOLE BEING into harmony and balance. The ancient practice of using Harmonic Sound is showing itself to be a powerful antidote to stress and anxiety in today's modern world. Sound interacts with us on all levels - physical, mental, emotional, spiritual - and can help our whole being return to a state of harmony and balance.


On Sunday, September 26th you are invited to give yourself a reset with a Immersive SOUND Journey at The Folded Leaf in Charleston, WV with a special out-of-town guest Greg Burns of Metta Vibrations. This experience can be a deeply meditative and relaxing experience, as well as very transformational. This session will begin at 2pm and will incorporate the soothing sounds of Tibetan Singing Bowls, Symphonic Gong, Chimes, and more. 


Greg will begin by discussing Sound and how it interacts with us and why it can be a powerful tool for our wellness. Participants will be invited to relax and become comfortable for the session. After getting comfortable and offering some guided relaxation, Greg will begin filling the atmosphere with the harmonic tones of the various instruments. The sounds will last over an hour before being guided back to waking consciousness. Time to ground, reflect and ask questions about the experience will be offered before concluding the session. Total length of the session is 1.5 hours.


We expect a high level of interest in this event. Reservations are strongly encouraged. Only 20 Spots Available!!!


No prior experience is needed. These sessions are geared to aid those not experienced with meditation, as well as offer an opportunity for deep meditation to experienced practitioners.


Attendees are encouraged to wear loose, comfortable clothing and limit caffeine intake prior. Some mats, blankets and pillows will be available to use, though you may also consider bringing any pillow, blanket or crystal you desire to have with you for the session. 


Greg Burns is a certified Sound Practitioner hailing from the mountains of Virginia. He is trained in Therapeutic application of sound and has been offering a wide range of services and sound experiences for a number of years now.  Greg utilizes a range of instruments as part of his practice including Tibetan Singing Bowls, Gong, Drums, Chimes, Rattles, and more. He has shared his Sound experiences all over Virginia and the East Coast, including at the well-known Kripalu Yoga Center in MA. He also regularly leads drum circles and is percussionist for the kirtan duo Chakra Khan.
